Each resident has their own front door and their own space, with the freedom that comes from independent living. At the same time, there is the reassurance that help, conversation, and a sense of community are never far away.

Almshouses have formed part of English life for many centuries, offering secure and affordable homes to those facing hardship. Today, more than 1,600 almshouse charities continue this work across the country, each operating independently but united by a shared purpose.
